Cinderella's Closet is hosting the fashion show and workshop for Miss South Gwinnett tonight at 7:00. We will be showing a beautiful pageant dresses. We will show everthing from ballgowns to elegant halter tops and fun strapless gowns. The fashion show is a great way to view some of our best pageant dresses and there will be some tasty refreshments after the show. Cinderella's Closet was recently contacted by a producer and "Fit Girl" blogger from the Tyra Banks Show. She discussed how she would be doing a blog about appropriate party wear for the plus size female. She contacted us for permission to link our website to her blog. And of course, we accepted!! She discusses how plus size women normally do not dress appropriately, trying to hide thier figure, while they should be showing off thier curves. She reveals some beautiful plus size evening gowns that will make any girl feel fierce!

Cinderella's Closet will be holding a fashion show for the Miss South Gwinnett Pageant on October 27th. The fashion show will include pageant dresses that are geared towards each individual grade level. There will be refreshments after the show and a time for you to discuss what dress would be best for your age group. You will get some extra time to make your decision on the perfect dress for your pageant. The Miss South Gwinnett Pageant is a great opportunity to get involved in your school. We were recently contacted by TLC about a new show that premiered on their channel on September 30, 2009 at 9:00 pm. The show is King of the Crown and it is about pageant coach who has been in the business for 24 years. TLC contacted us for casting for the season finale. So, we are looking for girls who are in pageants this month and are willing to be on the show. King of the Crown is striving to show pageants in a more positive light. Every week Cyrus, the pageant coach, selects a new pageant contestant to teach. There is a whole team who works with the contestant to help her to win the pageant. There is an interview coach, Shane, a personal coordinator, Kyle, and a pageant instructor, Amanda. Maybe you can be the next lucky girl who can be turned into a pageant queen by Cyrus.

Okay so we all know fashion trends are changing constantly. The question is how do we keep up with all the lastest fads. Well we are here to help! Shoes are always a hot fashion item because they really complete an outfit. At Cinderella's Closet we carry tons of designer shoes that are very fashion forward. First of all, the higher the heel the sexier the shoe. Higher heels make your legs look better and are very popular. Girls love stilettos!!! Strappy heels with rhinestones are also very popular because they give your ensemble a little bit of extra sparkle. If you really wanna make a statement with your shoes try an animal print or a funky patent leather heel. Attention ladies, the peep toe shoe is making a come back with updated colors and styles, they are fantastic. For girls that are a little taller than average, a small heel is perfect! We have several shorter heel styles to choose from. We even carry some designer flip flops! A wedge heel is great for someone who is not comfortable with the thin heel, a chunky heel is also an option. The big flashy stones are very popular this year and they really draw in some attention. The biggest thing to remeber when picking out prom shoes or pageant shoes is to make sure you are comfortable and confident wearing them!!

The Miss America Pageant began in Atlantic City, New Jersey on September 8, 1921 as a two day beauty competition. The winner of the pageant was not named Miss America until 1922 when she re-entered the pageant. The very first Miss America was Margaret Gorman. The talent portion of the competition was added in 1935. At this time the main event of the pageant was the beauty competition where the women wore bathing suits. The first Miss America pageant that was televised was in 1955 and the winner was Lee Meriwether from Mississippi. Beginning in 1954 the Miss America Pageant has been nationally televised. In the early 1960's Miss America was viewed as the female equivalent to the President. Also, during this time the pageant stressed conservative values and believed the contestants should only desire to be a good wife. However due to feminist activist this notion would soon change. By the 1990's the pageant was change into The Miss America Organization. This organization consisted of three divisions: the Miss America Pageant, a scholarship fund, and The Miss America Foundation. The current Miss America is Katie Stam from Indiana.

The 2010 Miss Georgia USA and Miss Georgia Teen USA pageants will be held on November 12-14, 2009 in Cartersville, GA at the Woodland Performing Arts Center. To be eligible for Miss Georgia USA you must be at least 18 years old and younger than 27 years old as of Febuary 1, 2010. To be eligible for Miss Georgia Teen USA you must be over the age 0f 14 and under the age of 19 as of Febuary 1, 2010. Each pageant includes three competitions that include swimsuit, evening gown, and interview. There is no fee required to apply to be a contestant of these pageants, so why not apply today!
