Hill studied fashion arts, clothing and textile design at the University of Oklahoma, but developed a passion for evening wear and design growing up in Minco, Oklahoma. Her parents owned a small retail store and spent much time scouting out the fashion markets and embracing the excitement of the fast-paced environment and constantly changing designs and styles. Hill's affection for fashion soon grew into a desire to create gowns of her own. Hill's devotion to design is evident in her selection of beautiful fabrics and trimmings combined with innovative combinations of cuts to accentuate the best features of each and every woman.” Article from Sherri Hill Website

Inspired by Roses for Prom
“Cleopatra, the ancient world’s best-documented aficionada, is well known for her baths of milk and kohl-lined eyes, but did you know that the Empress of the Nile had a serious rose habit, too?  The first-century-B.C. diva demanded copper cauldrons filled to the brim with fresh rose petals imported from Egypt to carpet-nearly knee deep-her rooms in Rome.  And when she sailed, she instructed her minions to drench the sails of her royal barge in their fragrant, heady perfume.  Thousands of years later, rose, the Queen of Flowers” has been the inspiration for the Sherri Hill.  She designed some breath taking rose print prom dresses that she actually created the rose print then had it made into fabric.  BRAVO!!!  They are the talk of the town.  BRILLIANT!!!! All the beautiful shades of roses from deep reds, fuchsias, to soft shades of pink are combined to make these feminine little dresses.  Even her showroom was decorated in roses and balloons of all shades of pink. If you are a girly girl, I would encourage you to look at these short prom dresses.  I fell absolutely in love with them.
